Westwood is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey. The town’s population is estimated to be around 11,326 people. It is part of the New York metropolitan area, and many of its residents commute to New York City for work. Westwood was incorporated as a borough in 1894 during a phenomenon known as “boroughitis,” in which 26 boroughs were formed in Bergen County. The town’s name probably derives from the fact that it is the “west wood” of Washington Township.
