Morris Township is a township in Morris County, New Jersey. The township’s population is estimated to be around 22,489 people. Morris Township is known as a “doughnut” around Morristown, because it completely surrounds it. It was incorporated as a township in 1798 under the township act of that date by the New Jersey Legislature. Its name is derived from the former colonial governor Lewis Morris.
