Chatham is a borough in Morris County, New Jersey. The borough’s population is estimated to be around 8,928 people. The community that is now Chatham, which was within Morris Township, was first settled by Europeans in 1710. Its original name, John Day’s Bridge, was changed to Chatham in 1773. Chatham is bordered to the west by Chatham Township, and Madison and Florham Park to the North (all of which are in Morris County); Summit to the southeast, which is in Union County, and Millburn to the northeast (which is in Essex County).
