Long Hill Township is located in Morris County, New Jersey. The township’s population is estimated to be around 8,711 people. In 1922 part of what was Passaic Township at the time was taken to form Harding Township. In 1992 the voters decided to change its name to Long Hill Township. This is due to its location on a long hill and also to differentiate it from the city of Passaic, and avoid confusion. Long Hill Township is bordered in Morris County by Chatham Township and Harding Township, Bernards Township and Warren Township in Somerset County, and Berkeley Heights in Union County.
