Morris Township is a township in Morris County, New Jersey. The township’s population is estimated to be around 22,489 people. Morris Township is known as a “doughnut” around Morristown as it completely girds it. It was incorporated as a township in 1798 under the township act of that date by the New Jersey Legislature. Its name is derived from the colonial governor Lewis Morris. Morris Township is bordered by the Morris County municipalities of Denville, Parsippany-Troy Hills township, Morris Plains and Hanover Township to the north, Harding Township to the south, Mendham Township and Randolph to the west, and Florham Park and Madison to the east.
