Mountain Lakes is a borough located in Morris County, New Jersey. The borough’s population is estimated to be around 4,276 people. Mountain Lakes was incorporated as a borough in 1924 by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. It was named for a pair of lakes which made Mountain Lakes “the first year-round residential lake community in northwestern New Jersey”. Mountain Lakes is bordered to the east and south by Parsippany-Troy Hills, to the northeast by Boonton, to the northwest by Boonton Township, and by Denville to the west.
