Denville is a Township located in Morris County, New Jersey. The township’s population is estimated to be around 16,635 people. In 1913 Denville was formed as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature from portions of Rockaway Township. Daniel Denton wrote the first English description of the area, and some researchers believe the name “Denville” is derived from him. Denville is bordered by the Morris County towns of Mountain Lakes and Parsippany-Troy Hills to the east, Morris Township to the south, Rockaway Borough to the west, and Boonton Township to the north.
